Liberal Democrats in Europe

The Liberal Democrats form part of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR) at the European level.

Liberal Democrat MEPs sit in the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe (ALDE) group, along with other liberal parties from around the EU.

Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) from Britain represent regions, with eight MEPs currently representing the North West region, including Chris Davies for the Liberal Democrats.

The European Parliament plays a key role in checking and approving new European legislation. Chris Davies and other Liberal Democrat MEPs work hard to make this process open and accountable so that people can have confidence in the system.
